WHAT'S ON WHERE?

There are loads of new festival events taking place this year, including a Best Garden Competition and a Literary Evening. Once again you can visit the popular Craft Fair and Art Exhibition, and the Festival will finish in spectacular carnival-style fashion, with a Grand Community Parade through the streets, and Family Fun Day, with stalls, rides, activities and stage performances at Woodseats School.

LITERARY EVENING

Monday 6th July, 7.30pm

The festival's first ever Literary Evening is taking place on Monday 6th July, from 7.30pm at Woodseats Methodist Church.

Come along and hear poetry, short stories and monologues all read by the local authors themselves. There'll be refreshments, prize-giving and maybe a surprise guest or two! Who knows, it might inspire you to start writing in time for next year's event!

First Aid Course

Monday 6th and Tuesday 7th July, 8pm - 10pm.

Do you want to learn a valuable skill? Are you interested in becoming a first aider? If so, the Woodseats Festival is offering the opportunity to learn some first aid skills. A first aid course will be taking place at the Scout Hut on Helmton Road on Monday 6th and Tuesday 7th July. The course will cover first response techniques and is accredited by the St John’s Ambulance and the British Red Cross. Participants must be 16+

As part of their regular music night, The Chantrey will be hosting a special evening of live music to coincide with festival week. The full line up will be confirmed before the festival. If you’re a fan of live music then head down to the Chantrey during Woodseats festival week.

ART EXHIBITION

Book your free exhibition space now!

The festival’s art exhibition seeks to provide a showcase for talented amateurs, enthusiasts and professionals alike. It will feature work from painters, printers, potters, photographers, musical instrument makers, glass workers, mosaic artists and many more. There will also be demonstrations of lace-making and free have-a-go origami sessions. The exhibition takes place on Saturday 11th July from 10-4 at the Woodseats Methodist Church on Holmhirst Road.

CRAFT FAIR

Saturday 11th July, 10am - 4pm

The craft fair will be held on Saturday 11th July at Woodseats Methodist Church from 10am - 4pm. On sale will be a wide range of handmade items including jewellery, textiles, photography, cards, knitted clothes and toys, plus lots more. Refreshments will also be available. So, if you are looking for a unique or unusual gift, this is the place to come.

Karaoke Night at The Big Tree

Do you like to sing? Do you have a hidden talent waiting to burst out? Fancy singing some of your favourite songs? Then the karaoke night at the Big Tree is for you! During festival week the Big Tree will be hosting their regular karaoke night. It’s free to get in and open until late.

GRAND COMMUNITY PARADE

We’re proud of our local community and we want to parade down the streets and shout (and whistle, and bang drums) about it!

Once again you are invited to come and join the grand parade as it makes its way from Abbey Lane to Woodseats School for the start of the Festival's Family Funday. We've ordered the sunshine and this year's themes will be Woodseats Wildlife and Aliens! Gather in front of Abbey Lane School from 11.30am.

INTERESTING CAR & VEHICLE SHOW

Festival Family Funday - Sunday 12th July - Woodseats School Yard

12-4pm (Set up from 11.30am)

Do you own an unusual car? A classic bike? A tractor or a tank?

Do you want to show it off?

If so, this is the car show for you. Nothing fancy or formal, just a chance to show off your interesting vehicle to hundreds of people.

Anything allowed, if you like it we like it.

Last year we had a range of interesting vehicles from a Sierra Cosworth rally car to a tank, an Austin 7 Ruby to a Talbot Samba.

£3 registration fee (to help pay for festival costs). All entrants receive a limited edition car sticker in return.

Live Local Bands at the Sheaf Pub

Sunday 12th July from 4pm onwards.

Festival fun continues at the sheaf with a barbeque and free bouncy castle plus fantastic live music into the evening from local bands MDP, 16 Hooves, Yezza & Nem, plus special guests. Free entry.
