FESTIVAL WORKSHOPS

PARADE WORKSHOPS
Saturday 28th June & Saturday 12th July,  2-4pm
Let your imagination run wild - build something fabulous to carry in the community parade.  Last year there were flowers, fish, foxes and footballs.  Got any good ideas?

ALL WELCOME.  Free Entry, all children must be accompanied.

DRUMMING WORKSHOPS
Thursday evenings 7.15 – 8.45. 19th and 26th June, 3rd and 10th July
Children age 10+ are invited to lead the festival parade as part of a Bongo Band.  Come and learn how from percussionist Bongo Bert at four workshops.
Double Six Youthclub, Scarsdale Road
Drumming workshops are free, but children must be available to take part in the parade

  • All Welcome! Bring your friends. Bring your family. Bring your fancy-dress or your loudest shirt and join the parade through Woodseats. Gather in front of Abbey Lane School from 11.30am

  • An Afternoon of Entertainments

  • Woodseats School Yard, Chesterfield Road
  • The parade arrives at Woodseats Schoolyard to really kick-off the day’s events in style. Local charities, clubs and traders will be out in force, so browse the stalls, try the tombola, buy a raffle ticket and enjoy the performances on the covered Festival Stage, including:

    Bongo Bert and The Woodseats Children’s Bongo Band!
    Sylvaine School of Dance
    Arabesque Dancers
    Woodseats Amateur Boxing Club
    Byrne School of Irish Dance
    Vulcan Varieties
    Belrobics Belly Dancing

    Castle Academy of Martial Arts

  • There’ll also be a Classic and Interesting Vehicle Display, traditional Funfair, Face-painting, Food and Drink (get your fish & chips instantly couriered over!) and free have-a-go sessions on the Climbing Wall, Archery, Mini Tennis and Inflatable Football Pitch.

  • Craft Fair and Art & Craft Exhibition

  • Woodseats Methodist Church, Holmhirst Road
  • Loads of lovely stuff by talented local artists and crafts-people. Exhibit your work for free! Or book a stall at the craft fair to sell your handicrafts.

  • Tea-Dance with Easydance

  • Woodseats Working Men's Club, The Dale
  • Free Entry. All Welcome.
